Ford A Sport Coupé 1931

Dad bought this car in Punta del Este in the area around the lighthouse from a man who was a fisherman in winter and baker in the summer. The car wasn’t for sale, but when he was given the opportunity he decided to sell it. This coupe, due to its proximity to the sea, was quite blistered with rust in parts. It was necessary to search with a trailer to try and find another Ford A to allow him to make the restoration because there was so much damage had been made by the salt many parts were un-repairable.

My father always said that the reconstruction phase of the car was formidable, but finding the parts by having to strip down others was not the most enjoyable, but an essential part of the hobby and the end result is what filled him with satisfaction.
